I began my career as a financial advisor in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2013. In 2016, I decided to return home to work for Equitable Advisors alongside my dad and sister in Syracuse, NY. With my dad having over 40 years in the business, Equitable has always played a significant part in my life, making this transition very special to me. Despite the large scale of Equitable, it has always and still today feels like a small, family-owned business.
Throughout my career, I've witnessed advisors, including my dad, positively impact people's lives by helping them navigate retirement successfully. This experience shapes my approach today, where I focus on assisting individuals, families, business owners, sole proprietors, municipal employees, state employees, and non-profits. My goal is to educate and guide my clients to and through retirement, ensuring they feel supported and confident about their financial future. Building strong, lasting relationships is key to my practice.
Why did I join Cypress? My tenure in New York enabled me to join Cypress Financial Consultants, a specialized team within Equitable. This opportunity allows me to leverage unique resources and collaborate with advisors with decades of experience, further enhancing my practice and deepening my understanding of the financial industry. Recently, my business partner/sister and I have partnered with our ‘uncle’, Fred Cyprys, who created Cypress to help him transition into retirement. He has been one of our biggest cheerleaders and mentors since we both started in the business, so we are excited to continue his legacy.
Personally, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in business with a marketing major from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2008. I played Division I golf for UNCG, a sport my dad taught me, which instilled in me patience, passion, and discipline. These qualities have been invaluable in my career, helping me forge meaningful relationships and a successful practice. I live in Auburn, NY with my wife, Brittany. I am also proud to help raise two wonderful kids, Brayden, 16, and Adelyn, 12. Our family is completed by our three adorable, and very mischievous, dachshunds, Franklin, Arthur and Eleanor.
