I grew up on Long Island and attended Syracuse University. After graduation in 2002, I decided to make Upstate New York my home and became an advisor after graduation. I currently live in Manlius with my wife Lauren and Daughter Alyssa. The planning process I adhere to is client-oriented in that the concerns and questions of the clients are what drive the vehicles they choose. It is my job to guide them through the process utilizing the knowledge and resources that I have. Focused attention, service and commitment to my clients has afforded me the ability to operate my practice mainly on a referral basis. This allows me to provide my existing clients the level of service and professional advice they deserve.
"Why did I become an advisor?" It was a great opportunity to help others achieve their dreams.

In 2020 I made a move to establish my own office close to home and often walk to work.
"Why did I become an advisor?" As a kid I wanted to be a stock broker “when I grew up”. I later realized how important a well-rounded financial plan is to becoming truly successful. Today I only work with families who want to secure their future by creating a financial plan and aligning appropriate investment and risk management strategies. My clients typically have a net worth of $1M or higher and we manage their entire portfolio.

I am originally from the Syracuse area, after spending my first few collegiate years attending Hartwick College in Oneonta NY, I transferred and graduated from Syracuse University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree and a concentration in Finance. I became an advisor shortly after college and have continued with the same firm for over 14 years. I currently reside in Camillus, NY with my wife Marcey and three children, Maria, Michael, and Anthony. With any free time, I enjoy the outdoors. Hunting and fishing are a few of my favorites, but just being out there is therapeutic.
"Why did I became an advisor?" From my earlier years in college I wanted to be a Financial Advisor. Back then my perception of the career was that I would be working with stocks, bonds and mutual funds. I quickly realized to be successful in this career a more holistic approach must be taken. The focus on one’s investments is important. However, risk management and having a financial plan in place arguably takes presentence.
"Why did I join Cypress?" Being part of this team allows us all to benefit from idea sharing and tapping into each other’s expertise. This allows me to confidently provide the best service and advice to my clients.
I have been an advisor since 2003. Providing personalized service to every client is a cornerstone to my business practice and I am dedicated to building focused plans for the specific needs of each client. I strive to help everyone prioritize their financial goals and meet them by teaching the importance of measuring debts, managing budgets and investing sensibly. For the past 18 years, I have built long-lasting relationships that drive me to continue the work I do every day.
"Why did I become an advisor?" I became an advisor because I saw that there was a need to teach and guide others through their financial journey.
"Why did I join Cypress?" I joined Cypress to be part of a team of professionals, each with their own unique set of specialties, that when partnered with my own could provide my clients with a broader base of financial resources.

"Why did I become a Financial Professional?" I joined financial industry in 2012, although I would say I've been a part of this industry for much longer. My Dad has worked in the industry for over 30 years. After graduating college and moving back to upstate NY he convinced me to come join his team of financial professionals in Syracuse. It wasn’t a hard decision as I have always admired the work he has done through the years, helping people to identify their financial goals and protecting their families along the way. I initially started to work quite a bit within the NYS public school system. Here I helped faculty and staff to start their retirement savings while also putting an important focus on protecting their NYS retirement plans through life insurance. I grew my business through referrals from this network of wonderful teachers and staff and am so appreciative for that. As the years have passed, I have begun to branch off into focusing on helping individuals and families. I help them to establish and implement a financial strategies to help them to grow retirement savings, college savings, and investments, all while protecting their children and households through life insurance. It has been a rewarding career thus far. One that has allowed me to also grow my family over the last ten years. I look forward to growing further now that I have joined the Cypress team.
"Why did I join Cypress?" I decided to join Cypress to better serve my existing and future clients. Although I have learned and gained a lot of knowledge over the past ten years, having a highly respected team who has been working for 20 plus years in the business is very reassuring. My sister and business partner has been a part of this group for (3) years. I have been able to see firsthand how helpful it has been for her to have a team behind her. It gives me the confidence that I will be able to help my clients no matter what their situation or needs may be. I look forward to working with this group and growing my business further to help many more individuals, families, and small businesses address their financial and protection goals.

Four consecutive generations of the Hesse family before myself bypassed college and worked as Corrections Officers at Auburn Correctional Facility. The mindset was simple, 'work hard and provide for your family'. However, I had my eyes set on changing the standard that was instilled in my lineage for many years. Growing up in Auburn, NY, I ventured off to attend Siena College in Albany, NY where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance. In my junior year at Siena, I was given the opportunity to work as an intern with Equitable Advisors in the Albany office. Two years later, I accepted a position with Equitable Advisors as a Financial Advisor. Aside from working, I enjoy a very active lifestyle, which includes skiing, ice hockey, traveling, and weightlifting.
"Why did I become an advisor?" From a young age, I was taught a multitude of qualities that I continue to pertain to this day, but two stand out. First and foremost, to be a reliable person. One who is willing to drop whatever task is at hand to assist others. The latter of the two: the importance of being fiscally responsible. After the completion of my internship at Equitable, I came to the realization that I can embody a career revolving around two characteristics that I am most passionate about.
"Why did I join Cypress?" One night I approached Michael Leone and asked if he was searching for an intern. Michael appreciated my courage and ability to approach others. In the following months, he gave me the opportunity, which eventually led me to Cypress. As a member of Cypress Financial, I am able to enhance the resources which are at my disposal. The ability to join the team has not only given me the capacity to collaborate with likeminded individuals, it also gives families the ultimate confidence that they will be provided with a well-rounded financial plan for years to come. I have been working as Kevin Sheehan's assistant since May 2017 when I moved back to my home state of New York after living in Myrtle Beach, SC for the past 20 years. During my time at the beach I worked my way up through the hospitality industry with my last position as General Manager and running large resort properties. While I was working fulltime, I put myself through college and was able to achieve my Master’s in Business Administration from Liberty University. I have enjoyed learning from Kevin and my coworkers about the financial industry and being able to speak to clients in a completely different environment. In my free time I enjoy spending weekends at camp and living life to its fullest.
